  • Description:

    Divided into two sections, the program will teach:

    1. Students how to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information about how to deal with emergencies like shock, burns, strains, strokes, and seizures is shared.


    2. Students to master necessary skills for the administration of CPR to adults, children, and infants. They will learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support, what to do in the case of an airway obstruction or choking, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

      Web Exercises further expand on information discussed in the chapters of First Aid and CPR, Fourth Edition through interactive exercises.

      Discover Online contains links to sites where you can satisfy your curiosity about everything from the dangers of polar bears to food allergies.

      Key Term Flashcards test your First Aid and CPR vocabulary with this interactive study aid.


    2. Videos: Skills in Action - Watch an experienced first aider perform skills such as CPR, the jaw thrust, and splinting. Seeing skills in action will help you to cope confidently and correctly when you are faced with an emergency.


    3. Anatomy Review - This site will help you study human anatomy through interactive figure labeling exercises.


    4. Interactive Glossary - This page allows you to search the glossary for a term or to browse the glossary alphabetically.
